Hello all,
Seems Penny is in for a tough time again. Facing a tough choice and will have more information tomorrow. After path results from gloss and dissection- there was an additional spot in specimen we were unaware of and that spot had spindle-cell componants .2cm from margins. Dr's state she does not have the cancer anymore- there is (their term) "cancerous dust" too close. So offering either more Radiation/chemo (5 fu/carboplatin/erbitux) or just the chemo/erbitux and no radiation. So the scene is set for this dust to possibly develop. Recommending the above as to create a hostile environment-preventative if you will-so choice is chemo/ erbitux or rad/chemo/erbitux. Seems scary for radiation a 2nd time as preventative? Will keep you posted.. thanks for being here

Well after meeting with Penny's old Radiologist- he does not like the idea of more radiation- while the other radiologist wouldn't hesitate about giving her another 6 weeks-Penny's radiologist is not of that thinking-The only form he would entertain at all was Brachy which he admits is nothing wildly new at all but is more focused and would not turn what's left to plywood- she is considering this- meanwhile her 2nd daughter just had a baby on the 7th- a little girl- some great news! Penny begins chemo on the 26th!

Sarah

Sorry to hear that Penny is having to deal with this horrid disease again and go through more chemo treatments. I hope that everything goes according to plan and her treatments go as smooth as possible.

Wonderful news on the birth of another girl for her daughter.
