Hi All,
Bob (AKA JetageHobo) was staying at a resort in Thailand with his wife over Christmas. As you probably know over 900 are confirmed dead in Thailand alone as a result of the tsunami. I have tried to call his cell with no results so far. I will keep the list posted.

I'll be praying for good news Gary. Please let us know as soon as you can. I saw the film of it and it was devastating to see.

To Everyone,

Bob said in his response to Marica's post "Happy Holidays Y'All" that he was going to Koh Samui to spend New Years Eve on the beach. Just looked up the area at http://www.kohsamui.org/ and at the top of their page is the statement

....Note! Tidal waves did NOT affect Samui......

Let us hope this is true as we still offer prayers to the victims of this devastating Earthquake & Tsunami. Gary, keep calling and let us know as soon as you talk to Bob.

Peace
Jack

Thanks for the prayers, all ok here. Safe and sound in Bangkok, tsunami hit while we were enroute and we didn't even know about it until I got to Bangkok and got voice mails from friends asking how we were. After a couple of confused phone calls on my part we discovered what happened. Where we are going is on other side of Thailand and is ok.

Pray for those that lost their lives in this event, about 25,000 so far and expeced to be double by the time of final count. These people didn't have much to start with, and now are left with nothing, so please remember the relief agencies that need help.

Thanks again for your prayers, all ok. See you all on the board next week.

Bob, I am much relieved to learn that you and Nicole are safe. The resort areas in Thailand and Indonesia are always very popular places for Hong Kong people during Christmas holidays to escape from the cold weather here.If not for the spicy food there, our family also preferred going there for a break. We finally chose Guilin, a province in China for a 4 day trip and were just back.We still lose contact with over 200 Hong Kong people and the government is trying their best to offer help. Compared with those who lost their life or their beloved ones in a split second, cancer patients and survivors should consider themselves very lucky.

Thanks for all your support and prayers. Made it back to Dongguan safe and sound yesterday, wife had to drag me kicking and screaming to the plane. Nice warm mid 80's in Koh Samui, low 40's in Dongguan. Samui wasn't affected by the tsunam since it's on the other side of Thailand from Phukett. Did put a damper on the spirit of the New Years festivities, but still celebrated on the beach, with champagne and fireworks. One of those New Years to be remembered for a long time.

Another year down the hatch, another year survived. Wishing the best to all of you this New Year.

Now, pray for Gary, he's someplace in my neck of the woods, about an hour from here I suspect. Young lad, first time to China. No heat in the hotel rooms...
