I had an appt. with my RO this morning at 8:30. He came in the room and said hey Jim, how are you feeling? I said great and how are you feeling. HIs answer was, "I feel great too and I don't want to see you again for 3 months. You are Cancer Free.." Wow , that sounded so good to my ears. He did tell me to try and put some weight back on and asked how the eating was coming along. Just told the truth. The 1st bite or 2 have taste and the rest kind of burn my tongue. But I told him I eat whatever I can blend into liquid and some that I can mash using my tongue against the roof of my mouth. He said keep trying different things, but didn't mention dentures yet. Grrrrr .... Now you know the rest of the story. LOL

Jim,

Let me be the first to congratulate you on being cancer free.

There surely is nothing that you can't do and you will do it with a smile and a joke, for sure.

Jim, Conratulations! Sincerely!
When I read this post, I thought back to when you were first diagnosed, and where your mind was at then. What a change we've seen! I'm so glad you've come through the tunnel, and back out into the light. Way to Go!

Jim,
Great news!
Add some whipped cream to your coffee and watch the calories climb. Also treat your self to some of the non-dairy ice creams by Purely Decadent. They are deliciuos and I guarantee that they help put on weight. I buy them as a treat for the little people and this big person has gained a few pounds from them.

I forgot to post that I got this great news on what would have been my Mothers Birthday. I sometimes think she is one of my guardian angels now along with the angels that have taken care of me over the years. I had to have angels or I would have been dead years ago. Just too many things happened over the years that kill normal people. LOL I'm too dumb to look out for me and need the help. Have a good one all of you people I luv and respect.

3.2 beer.....I haven't heard that since I was in high school!!! In Va we could legally drink 3.2 (%) beer when we turned 18. Do they still even make that stuff?

Another use for the ever-present PEG tube!

"In the United States, the sale of only low-alcohol light beer is allowed in some establishments. For example, in Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Utah, beer sold in supermarket chains and convenience stores must be less than 3.2% alcohol by weight (4% ABV). This low alcohol beer is also referred to as Low-point beer or 3.2 ("three-two") beer. Minnesota has a full-service alcohol license available to retailers, permitting sales of beers up to the normal alcohol level, but 3.2 licenses are easier to obtain."
