I go see my surgeon who put it in on 27th. He is also taking the PEG tube out too. Is it surgery or just local anestisia? Any info about it would be greatly appreciated.

There are several posts here dealing with PEG removal. It is a snap (literally). Re port. Mine was taken out under local anesthesia. Takes about 15 minutes (- the wait). This is also not a great deal, I flew the next day. .... just watch out with the seat belt for a couple of days.

I did not have a port, but did have the PEG tube. It will hurt just a little for about 3 minutes. They will yank it out. It will feel like a sting. Then you will have to keep area clean & dry for a few days. It will take about 2 weeks for it to heal and seal it self. Make sure you get the information on how to care for the area so that you do not get any infections.
Take care Diane

Im actually having both the port and peg done at the same time. I was hoping the port would be done by local anestisia and not go thru the surgery like when both were put it. It was local anesthesia. It didn't hurt at all and healed up quickly.
hooray for you getting both of those out!
