Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 1,163 | Hello to all my friends at the OCF foundation. I had my first post-treatment combo PET/CAT scan last Wednesday and I will get the results this Wednesday the 18th. For some reason I am ready to accept what ever they show. I feel fine but with this type of cancer you never know!!!!
I have a request to make which is from my HEART to all the wonderful people who have helped me travel this journey. Mandi, Gary, KCDC. Judy, Donna, Karen, Packer & Dee, Debbie, Minniea, Mark,
Danny, JetAgeHobo, Rosie and Brian. My request is for each of you to say a prayer or think positive thoughts for me on Wednesday. I am truly sorry if I missed some posters as I'm sure I have.

I envy the incredible rush you are going to have when the doc tells you all is clean!! If only we could bottle and sell that feeling. Do the appropriate amount of worrying about the results over the next few days, but don't go overboard. I'm just so sure that you will get good news.

SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.

You are in my prayers most everyday, but definitely over the next days as you await results. I always say God must be teaching me more patience, what a hard way to get it!!
Psalms 56:3 says, "Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You!" I sure have been afraid a lot lately, so I continue to try and trust God as He comforts me when I can't handle it anymore myself.
So glad to hear you are eating again and ready to get rid of the PEG!! Way to go!

Husband diagnosed with stage III tonsil and floor of mouth cancer in August 2002. Three rounds of chemo/42 RAD treatments. Upper right lung lobectomy in March 2003. (Benign)

Know that God is with you no matter what happens Wednesday and that He doesn't give us more than we can handle (as I've been told a million times the past few months)... I love the part where he promises to "never leave us or forsake us..." Even knuckleheads like me... Many blessings to you...
Tongue cancer (SCC), diagnosed Oct. 2003 (T2 N0 M0). Surgery to remove tumor. IMRT Radiation 30x in Dec 2003 - Jan. 2004. Recurrence lymph node - radical neck dissection June 2004. Second round of rad/chemo treatments ended Sept. 2004.

Brian, Is there any way something like that could happen. If you were to pick a date and location far enough out I'm sure you would get a great turnout. Just a wish of mine.
