Hello, All

My name is Kerry, and I was diagnosed with stage 3 HPV positive cancer of the base of the tongue in October 2019. I began radiation and chemotherapy in early December and have 8 radiation treatments remaining. I have been hospitalized twice, the first time with acute renal failure from the chemo and the second time with sepsis that happened as a result of an infection at my port site. I have since had the port removed and currently have a PICC line in place while I continue to receive antibiotics daily at home for the MRSA infection I acquired at the hospital. I have been off of my chemo for a few weeks now and am hoping to go back on and finish the remaining 3 doses in the next few weeks. I am looking to talk with people who have HPV related oropharyngeal cancer as I have found very little information out there on this particular type of oral cancer.

Welcome to the forum. If you go to the main OCF website, you will find a lot of good, detailed and vetted information on oral cancer. You find find information on Gardasil as well. You will probably have some of your questions answered.

Hello,
My name is Efrain Quintanilla,
I was diagnosed in March of 2019 stage 4.
I underwent 8 rounds of chemo and I showed I had good response to chemo so I then started my radiation therapy in July which ended my treatment In august. Its been a rough couple of months as I am trying recuperate from such a heavy treatment. Scans showed clear in November. I am not recovering from the flu which is no fun. I am having irritation with spicy food in the area where I had the tumor which freaks me out because it makes me worry. I also developed a Sore/Blister and im thinking its because of the fever i had but im going to see the doctor pretty soon.
Hope and Pray for the best for all of us.
