Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 345 Likes: 8 | husband had a runny nose for days. i said maybe it's allergies. He ended up going to doc and they put him on antibiotics. Just curious if his immune system is still recovering and how long it takes. This doc loves to write scripts for antibiotics so he's not a good judge of what would be normal for a former cancer patient.
His only symptom was a runny nose, not signs of infection. Is this a precaution maybe due to lack of immunity? just curious.
Spouse of 58 yr old with BOT cancer
Stage 4a HPV16 positive
3 chemo treatments cisplantin
35 radiation treatments 7000 cGy
former smoker/chewed tobacco for 38 yrs.
1/2020 diagnosed with cancer near TMJ
4/2020 chemo 5 days every 2 weeks
6/2020 proton therapy
9/21/2020 cancer free

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 6 | After the first time I had OC in 2007, I had permanent sinus damage from rads. I think it was the scatter radiation that fried my sinuses. To this day I must take sinus medication to help control my stuffy/runny nose issues. Most do not have this issue but it is something that can happen to some OC patients. Maybe your husband has the same issue as I do?
