Hi

Hope rads are going well for you ken and Sam
Ken I got the Manuka from my local health food shop but you can get it lots of places but try and get the +16 type. Radiotherapy isn't fun but you will get through it . I thought the mouth sores would be bad but it really wasn't just a few weeks were uncomfortable. You will feel tired and fed up but you will get through it and be strong again
Hugs

12 rads done. I have developed two sores but not bad enough to take any pain meds.

I have started on caphasol as well. So now i am alternating between mugard and caphasol. I would say mugard works for sure. I see some small sores coming up and than they disappear.

Chiristine,

Sorry do not go on this forum as frequentely so did not see your message. Definately will try to attend this walk. I have some other commitment on that day but will try to skip that.

Thanks,
Sam

Final updat on mugard:

Towards the end of treatment ( week 5 and 6), i did develop mouth sores but my doc said they were much lesser than most patients. She also now recommends mugard. I used caphasol and mugard together.

I would recommed using both from the start of the treatment if your insurace covers it. You could also contact the manufacturer and they will cover in the case your insurance does not.

I am 9 weekx post treatment now and doing very well, can eat most foods.

Great that you are doing so well! I was fortunate to attend the Cleveland walk and hope that you can make the NJ event.
