Ken has been experiencing pain at the back of his tongue/throat on the right side (tumor mostly on left) for a few weeks so we went to the ENT on Tues. He didn't see anything or feel anything of concern but since Ken's case has been "a-typical" he asked them to move up Ken's scheduled CT scans from 6/30. He called today to say there is a little bit of change from the April scans and he wants to do a biopsy on Wed. to rule anything out or catch it early. He said it could still be damage from radiation but he doesn't want to take any chances. (Original biopsy was negative back in 2009 but was sent out this January to Dana Farber and they said there were makers back then).
Just wondering if anyone else has similar stories and any insight that might help.

Ken is out of surgery and I just talked to his Dr. He said he took 3 samples - right and left base of tongue and by the voice box. He said he is worried so I am a mess. He said we could come in on Tues. to get the results but that is Ken's birthday so I am not sure he will want to come in then. I asked the Dr. if the biopsies come back positive what the next step would be and he said surgery but that we will talk about it on Tues. if necessary. Considering they said surgery was not an option last time I am not sure how it can be this time. I PRAY the results are good but I am so scared.

Sorry you're scared - try to enjoy the weekend - it may come back negative - maybe the locations that concerned him are a better location for an operation if it come to that - take care hugs and prayers coming your way!

Jill:
I will say a prayer for you and Ken and for good results next week. The doctor was vague, but guess he didn't have all the results yet, but it did sound promising that if it were something bad, it can be dealt with, which is good news. I know nothing keeps you from worrying; my prayers are headed that way.
