| | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 128 Senior Member (100+ posts) | | Senior Member (100+ posts) Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 128 | hello again, yesterday my father experienced some shooting pain in his left ear (left side was always the troubled side).. he did the chemo and radiation april through june of last year and i told him that the shooting pains could be from radiation, considering that was the targeted area.. he is down to the 25mcg fentanyl patch and that is all he takes for pain.. if he wakes up with this pain again we will call the ENT.. has anyone experienced this? thank you!

I had pain and blockage in my ear for a year or more after the end of treatment, and had my eardrum pierced for drainage. Although I never would have characterized the pain as shooting (except when he did the piercing of course). Do call your doc if it persists.
