hello again, yesterday my father experienced some shooting pain in his left ear (left side was always the troubled side).. he did the chemo and radiation april through june of last year and i told him that the shooting pains could be from radiation, considering that was the targeted area.. he is down to the 25mcg fentanyl patch and that is all he takes for pain.. if he wakes up with this pain again we will call the ENT.. has anyone experienced this? thank you!

Nicki, ear problems are another fun part of all of this. I had pain and blockage in my ear for a year or more after the end of treatment, and had my eardrum pierced for drainage. Although I never would have characterized the pain as shooting (except when he did the piercing of course). Do call your doc if it persists.

david, thank you for your quick response! i think he does have the headache and ear pain here and there too but yesterday it seemed a little worse.. hopefully, it was just one of those days and the pain does NOT persist! because as we alll know pain that does NOT go away in these situations is never really a good thing.. thank you again.. and im so glad to see you are doing well..
