My Drs are wanting a feeding tube but I have to have surgery to do this. THe Nissen Fundiplication , that was done on my Esophagus using 1/3rd of my stomache by wrapping it around my esophagus is going to have to be undone and my stomache lowered to where it was. The surgeon that has to do it is the one that did the Nissen in 1996. It seems most are in the " NOT ME MODE" LOL. I wish I could say not me too. I hurt more than one would think possible right now, but will pull thru this one too. Slept until after 8 this AM and that is a never happened before amount of sleep for me. I'm just saying what has to happen before this thing might be taken care of, I am fine exceot for some pain. I have all the meds I need to make me feel better and that is all of my family here. With all of you behind me, How can I ,possibly miss? LOO.. Luv ya all. Jim

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

We love you too Jim. So they will undo what they did in 1996, then put in a feeding tube........and then that it? No cancer treatment of any type? Do they know for sure if the cancer is back or is it just (and I don't say that lightly) this problem with your stomach?

I'm confuddled - but then you know that!

Big hug, and take the painkillers - even if you do sleep an inordinate amount!

LOL< We are both confuddled Donna. But what happens is beyond me right now. If it sounds good, I will say go for it. The tube is impossible without the lowering of my stomache is all I know. Luv ya lady and have a great day.

News from today with Dr.... There is no cancer showing up on the CT but Monday I have to get a PetScan of the rest of my upper body. The CT was just of my mouth area. Exposeed bone can really raise hell with the feelings where it eats away the flesh. My daughter got to look at my mouth and now knows what we go thru with this stuff. I go Monday for a Pet of the rest of my upper body . He is going to set it up with an Oral Surgeon to take away bone a little at a time to find good flesh to feed my jaw and that might get the flesh to grow back. He thinks the HBO might do the trick, but as I told him, that is just too much money and way too much traffic. We are going to check out all options when we get the results of the Pet. One side is brown dead flesh and the other is yellowish and dead too. There is all I can report right now. It's funny, I can't feel the bone of the left side where the pain is the worst and it is the side with the most dead flesh.

Jim,

I am confuddled like Pandora was in an earlier post. I thought they did biopsies of your mouth last week???

So they only did a CT scan??

Thanks for clearing this up.
