ear pain is a "symptom" of oral cancer activity.
HOWEVER it can also be a side effect of some treatments, including surgery so one wants to report it but not be worried about it unless the doctor is.
someone else may know more reasons why they ask it DURING or POST treatment ... i am not positive the above are the only reasons.
