Just a little story about medical bills: I get these bills from MD Anderson that make no sense to me. I sent in payments, but never knew what I really owed. I had a bill saying that I owed roughly $3000. I called the number on the bill and got some gobblygook from the person about what was allocated to the Drs. and what to the hospital. I said I don't know what you are talking about, I just send in the money and haven't a clue how it is allocated.
So one day I stopped by the financial office and sat down with a counselor. It turns out that the payments were put aside and not credited to either the Drs. or the hospital. It turned out I only owed about $300.
Crazy system. Anyone who can figure out and keep up with their insurance statements and the hospital bills must be a wizard.
