Great news. All those positive posts did the trick. let me know if Ron waffles or gets disheartened so we could go to plan B: spell out just how horrible and foolish the consequences would be if he had not chosen so wisely. Tell Ron I'm awarding him one of my imaginary medals for stepping up to the plate.
Of course with a caregiver like you, Ron would be a sorry excuse for a man not to want to live. Obviously he is not.
Seriously, choosing the surgery was one of the hardest decisions I ever made, knowing that I risked both speech and swallowing, yet it was the right one. I'm so glad the other posters here said the right things to sway Ron.
