Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 118 Likes: 1 | Nicki, I had infections at my titanim bar in 4/2007 and in 11/2007 with swelling and redness. My surgery with bar placement was 1/2005. My ENT diagnosed infection at the bar site and ABTs took care of both infections. Each infection occurred after dental cleanings. I do have chronic numbness in my chin. I no longer receive the ultrasonic cleanings. No infections since that time, but unlike your dad's, mine did occur more than two years from surgery. Hope healing with management of side effects proceeds smoothly.
