| Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,219 | Susan and her volunteers did a fantastic job with the annnual David Nasto Memorial Walk today, especially by arranging for perfect fall weather.
The turn out was great, 3 local dentist were doing oral cancer screenings and I was honored to have been asked to speak at the event. Susan's husband, Harry slaved over the barbeque to provide everyone with more delicious food than anyone could eat.
I don't know if I have ever walked 4 miles at the brisk pace that was set today, but my feet are just about feeling normal now and the hour nap at my daughter's house sure was needed.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
