Just an update on Jim - he has created a bucket list...the first one was to catch an alligator (which he failed at dramatically), but he had a blast just going thru the process. The next one is a cruise to Alaska - so it is booked for the latter part of June; in between time, a bunch of fishing and family time; which we are doing this weekend and for the weeks to come. In August, going to England to see my brother who is also suffering from this dreaded disease....Liz, I hope to get to meet you in person. Once I know the details, will send you a pm.
I'm very tired and looking forward to a (3) day weekend.

Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 716 | An ALLIGATOR!...How about one of those green lizards? I use to like to catch those little puppies roll them over and rub there belly's. They would literally fall asleep on there backs. When I lived in Houston we had them all over the yard. Cute little buggers.

Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 147 | Hey everyone - Donna, got your PM and I like you am very, very happy that he failed at the alligator - but I too used to catch lizards and frogs and flip them over, pet them until they went nite nite....now I hate lizards and such, they give me the creeps, but they seem to keep coming up around me. Today on the way home from work, there was a damn iguana in my alley...he just stared at me. I stopped for a minute and then he took off...now I worry that he is going to crawl into my backyard! God, I hope not...enough is enough already. Oh well, we fished this weekend, sunburn and all for me...seems like I make sure Jim is slathered in sunscreen, but oh, no..not Paula...oh well, I got the last laugh as I outfished Jim - - - he caught nothing and I caught all (4) catfish! He was happy though as he even made fun of me as to what was I going to do when he wasn't around to bait my hook and then take my fish off the hook. It even got more comical when our boat broke down and I was waving like a maniac to another boater for help. After about an hour, he finally realized that we needed help...he thought I was just being friendly. Thank God he had water aboard as Jim was famished! We laughed for a little bit as it turned out I'm the one that flooded the boat - Jim's dad did not appreciate our sick sense of humor, until we got onshore. So for now, I'll take the little laughs as these are precious times! God help us in Alaska! We're booked for an all day salmon fishing tour!
No chemo again this week - white blood cell count is 1.5. He won't do any hospital time...we see Doc on Monday...keep us in your prayers.

Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 583 | Paula, You are really going to love the Cruse to Alaska.. Make sure you have a good camera!! You will also love the fishing. Where in Alaska are you going Fishing Sitka, Ketchikan, Juneau,? June is a nice time to go... Enjoy. 
2004 SCC R.tip 1/4 tongue Oct. 2005 R. Neck SCC cancer/Chemo Cisplatin 2x/8wks. Rad. Removed Jugular vein, Lymph gland & some neck muscle. TX finished 1/20/06... B.Cancer 3/29/07 Finished 6/07 Bi-op 7/15/09 SCC in-situ, laser surgery removed from 1st. sight. Right jaw replacement 11/3/14. 9 yrs cancer free as of Jan. 2015
