Hi Wanda,
I think the next couple of weeks are going to be the same as the radiation carries on working for 2 weeks we were told.
Then it's a slow recovery. I don't know if John is feeling very tired or not. I know Martin practcally slept through his last week of radiation and the 2 weeks after.
He still now sleeps a lot and needs at least 12 hours sleep. But he is getting more disciplined at getting up and makes sure he goes for a walk everyday (with his bottle of water like Don).
Make sure you look after yourself as well. You don't want to make yourself sick.
Best of luck.
C

You sure do take good careof Martin, heck, mine deserted me and I had to try and do everything for myself including almost breaking my neck a few times. I will neve know how anyone could leave like that and leave someone helpless as a kid.. I was so weak I could barely navigate to fend for myself, maybe tht is waht made me tougher than I was,, I always would fight and size meant nothing,, nmow if I get into a scrap, it will be to try and hurt whoever, and that isn' the real me.

Wanda,
I'm so glad your husband is finishing up his treatments. As everyone has said, patience is the key as it will still take awhile to get back to "normal". Those who said you should take some time for yourself were smart! It will be good for you and for John as you will be less stressed and in a better mood. I don't think the worrying part stops. Even when you're doing well I think it stays in the back of your mind. So do take it one day at a time because that is all any of us has - make the BEST of that day that you can and try not to worry 'til you have something to worry about :o) Take good care of John and yourself - Nancy T

Wow. That was mean. I must say sometimes I got so annoyed at Martin and got so frustrated that I felt like leaving, but not really, I think I just needed some air (I did have my embarrassing rant that I couldn't delete here). But some fresh air a quick walk and a rant with my best friend or my mom and I was fit again. I wouldn't have really left. I couldn't imagine leaving Martin especially at such a vulnerable time!
You are very brave to cope with all of this on your own. I think if I hadn't been there Martin would have had to be hospitalised or he would have starved and jumped out the window. Coping with this needs some serious determination and will power.
