Just wanted to let everyone know I completed week number one today. The only complaints are my neck, from the position on the Rad table and the back of both arms, due to the daily shots of Ethyol.
Thanks to everyone who responded and to everyone for sharing, it has really helped my wife and I prepare for what the next couple of weeks will have in store for us.
To all the mothers,

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

What in the hell is Ethyol and what is it for? I am just curious and wonder about it. Glad yu are doing good and congrats on it.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

EZJim,

Ethyol is another name or brand of amifostine. It is to help with the saliva glands. I hope it works, because the shots are really tearing my arms up!
