Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 476 | Today would have been chemo #6 of 7 but John's white blood count was only 1.3. No chemo today or next Friday. They gave him a shot of something to boost the white blood count. He will finish up with radiation on April 15th so he will have chemo April 13th through the 16th. His oncologist said to keep an eye on his temp and to call if it hits 100. Wanda

Only 2 more weeks left of this and then about 2 more weeks of recovery before your husband will start to feel a little better. Hang in there its almost finished. Best of luck with treatments, I know how difficult it is.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
