Saw my ENT on Friday, and he has given me the 2 year all clear, but still wants to see me three monthly. He has also suggested again that I have my throat stretched as it may help with all the chest infections I am getting from food going down the wrong way. My GP agrees with him. As usual I came out of his office without asking the obvious questions, i.e. how long is the procedure, how long does it last and what if any are side effects. Any comments? besides telling me I am a real dill.

MARGIE, IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG AT ALL.. excuse the caps, too many keys on here for me. They just enlarge the opening and get right back out. not much of a problem at all. good luck with it.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Margie:

Congrats on the good check up. Two years is a nice milestone to reach. I have not had the dialation done but several on here have. From what Ive read about it, the procedure is a very simple one. Best of luck.
