OK - David had the Maxillectomy on 1/8/09 - The bone and soft tissue results came back clean, so there will be no more surgery. Next step is radiation, if it's decided that it is necessary - they are undecided at this point.

He saw the Prosthodontist today to adjust the prosthetic - but left frustrated, because the fit is still quite uncomfortable for him.

Overall he's done really well recovering, but he's quite bummed about the way he looks and sounds post surgery. I know that is normal...

We'll find out the 27th if he needs to have Radiation or not. I'll keep posting updates smile

Glad to hear that the surgery is over. In time the prosthetic will be more comfortable and as he heals David will be happier. The first time I saw myself post-surgery I was very shocked and did not think that I would ever look "normal" again. It all takes time and patience. Look forward to more updates.
