Has anyone developed a DVT (deep vein thrombossis) from either treatment or the cancer?
My Dad had developed one in his calf. This was back in April a couple of weeks into his treatment. He had been in for the jtube and when he got out his leg started hurting. They did an ultra sound and found it.
They said it's common; and that anything below the knee is nothing to really worry about. They put him on Lovenox injections. He took them for about 3 months. We had a follow up today and they said no need to take them and just go back to baby aspirin.
Just wondering if anyone else had this?
(My Dad still isn't sure if he's having neck dissection (both sides) or not).
Thank you,

Yep we had that one too. Jack developed a DVT in his arm at the port site.
We gave the Lovenox injections and did coumadin for 3 months and he just got the all clear on that last week. It happens.
Why is your Dad hesitating on the neck dissection?
Regards JoAnne

So did they tell you how or why he got the DVT?
Is Jack taking any aspirin now? Did they give him any special instructions?
