Joined: May 2008 Posts: 219 | I have blockages in both carotid arteries but the worst one is on the left side where I will be receiving radiation. I read some info on carotid artery blowouts from radiation. My question is if anyone here had a similar problem and if anyone knows if the carotid artery should be repaired prior to radiation or does it even have anything to do with the radiation? I will ask my Dr.'s asap but just thought I'd ask here first. Thank you, Angel
SCC left tonsil, tonsillectomy with additional tissue removed 06/10/08, a few teeth on top left side removed 09/05/08,recurrence before treatment started at BOT and tonsil area, 35 IMRT treatments began 10/15/08, and Cisplatin IV (began10/16/08) weekly for duration of radiation.
