Hi All,

A few days after my last post about my dad doing so well things went south.

We saw the H&N surgeon on Tuesday who has informed us that Dad's cancer is back. The surgeon has told us that it is now time for pain management. It doesn't look like surgery or radiation and chemo will be options.

He has a PET scan scheduled for next month so we can find out just how far the cancer has spread.

Needless to say we are heartbroken over the news. This is the 3rd time in 15 months that we have heard the words....it's cancer.

I wanted so bad to post that he was doing better and when he had two good weeks, I waited an additional week because I didn't want to speak too soon, but it looks like I did anyway. I think we always knew it would come back but we had so hoped that he could have a few good months to feel somewhat normal again.

I'm just really at a loss for any further words right now.

Joy

Aw Joy,

There aren't words to capture the sorrow you are feeling now. I'm sorry your Dad is having to struggle once again. My thoughts are with you and your Dad.

Sorry to hear this news, Joy. It certainly is what we all want to read posted, that these folks who have grown dear to us, are "doing so much better". I am sorry you have to face this once again, but our thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dad. Please keep posting. Warmly, JaneP

Hope. That's what we all share. It hurts when you hear those words. It hurts so much that you can not repeat them. I know how you feel. Your loss for words is o.k. Your heart is speaking to you not your head. Keep your head up and do whatever you possibly can to let your father know that you will support him. It is time to focus on him. He knows you and your loved ones feel the pain. My brother never wanted us to feel the pain. He said to keep our head up. He didn't want us to be sad around him. Believe me is wasn't easy but you do the best you can. I will pray for your father and your family so that you have the strength. Hope is good. You never know. It's what comforted us at the time. Take Care of yourself.

Noemi

This cancer is just so unpredictable. I wish I had the power to make it go away.

One day hopefully, someone will come up with a cure. I jhave no idea what to say but do know how you and your dad must feel. Why are they waiting until next month to do the Scan? Push them into doing it now. Have you & your dad in my prayers.

Joy:

Sorry to hear the bad news. Its hard enough going thru it once, and twice is much worse. For a third time, that is truly terrible. Please keep us updated, you know all your friends are here for support. I will keep you and your father in my prayers.
