It has been about two and a half months since my dads radiation and chemo(these were after his August '06 surgery). He was experiencing almost no side effects, nothing major. He stopped all pain meds. Then he began getting lots of mucus- I know this happens to a lot of people. It was-is very difficult for him to swallow and talk. He has a feeding tube still(thank God). He cannot sleep and has a constant headache and pain in the back of his throat. They are talking about a second reconstruction of his jaw due to a titanium plate rejecting -very soon, but I don't think it's a good idea with all of these problems. He seems worse now than ever. How long will this last? Months or years? Do you think surgery is to soon after only eight months since the first?
