I had undergone surgery of the buccal mucosa followed by 30 fractions of Radiation.
My Radiotherapy got completed in the first week of April this year. I suffered from acute mucositis because of radiation.
But, its more than 3 months since treatment and still the ulcers of the tongue, cheek and throat dont' seem to heal. I still have difficulty swallowing ,drinking and speaking.
Any idea how long it takes for these ulcers to heal?

Hopefully someone else can address this. It took me 2 months. I had 35 IMRT Rad, and chemo.

But if you can eat a little, you are doing well I believe. What do your MD's say?

Hari

I finished on March 15 (39 days of Rad. treatments). My ulcers (the pain part) went away after 2 or so months. I still have difficulty swallowing, but it is measurably better week after week. My ENT can see the swelling (inflammation) in my throat, which is the cause of my swallowing issues.

I think if you keep eating and drinking, you
