Kenny has a terrible case of the 'flu'. He completed his treatments late Sept 05 and has been very slowly improving. During the past 7 - 8 days Kenny has been knocked back on his behind by a severe bout of the 'flu'. He just happened to have a regular follow-up appointment with his MO last Friday and his bloodwork is fine. My concern is the blistering headache he has had for 6 days straight. He is back to taking his pain meds and has not been out of bed for the past 4 days. I realize I am more than a bit paranoid about any ache or pain Kenny might have - but this seems so very severe. Has anyone else experienced a severe case of the 'flu'?
Thanks!
Carol

Carol, if he has other flu symptoms, such as a fever and achiness, I don't think a bad headache would be an unusual symptom of the flu, if that's what you're asking. I last ahd the flu two years ago and had a headache all through the worst of it. If it's just a headache alone, without other "flu" symptoms, I'd be more concerned.

Thanks Nelie!
He does have fever, nausea & aches - but the headache apparently is a real killer and just won't let go.

I think that anyone that has been through Head & Neck Cancer should have a free pass on any other illness!

I appreciate ya!

Hi Carol,

Sounds just like a bad flu to me. I agree, however, we should get a "FREE PASS" on other ailments. Trouble is, the little bugs won't listen. I had my first cold 6 weeks ago after treatment and it was a lulu. I think that after 1 year and 2 months, I'm about 85%. I'm sure that Kenny doesn't have quite the ability to fight off bugs yet. The healing does take a long time and I think our resistance levels come back slowly just as our strength does. Hopefully, he recovers soon. if not, get him in for blood work to be sure there is nothing else going on. Whenever i had something strang, the first thing they did was a blood workup to rule out infections.
