My mother has medicaid in Iowa and has been refered to the University of Chicago. They are saying they do not accept medicaid from Iowa. Does anyone know much about the University or a way we can pay for the treatment. This is pretty much our last hope. They will do things her docs. in Iowa aren't willing to do.
Thank You,
Jennifer

Have you contacted social services at the University with your question? This is a big problem when you travel out of state for treatment and do not have insurance. Hopefully they will have options for you.

There are several centers in Iowa, and while smaller than going to Chicago, it is hard to imagine that except for some clinical trials that they do not have things that you will need. This is a NCICCC there - http://www.uihealthcare.com/depts/cancercenter/
