My dad has been diagnosed last week and I am meeting with his Dr. next Friday. His surgery is the following Friday. I'm not sure what I should be asking the Dr. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Thanks, Tracy

Tracy,
there is a ton of stuff to ask but for starters you need to know:

Whats scans have been done and their outcomes:
PET/CT/MRI/Chest, etc.?
What other lab and labwork has been done?
Where exactly is the cancer?
What type? E.g., SCC, adenocarcinoma?
What is the staging? Stage and TMN.
What is the treatment protocol?
What meds will he need and be taking?
What do they anticipate in the way of care during treatment?
What about nutrition during treatment - will he be meeting a nutritionist on a regular basis?
Arrange a meeting with the hospital social worker as well for support for yourself and financial options for him.
