I began reading many of your measages and wish I had done this months ago. My Dad was diagnosed in ealy May and just ended radiation 3 weeks ago. My Mom, Dad and I have been to two Stanford, Kaiser and UCSF and all have different opinions about my Dad. He is being treated at Kaiser but UCSF did the IMRT. Reading your messages reminded me of my last few months with my parents and it made me cry. I thank you for sharing your experiences. I share in all your sadness but it was so nice to hear so many postive cancer survivors. God Bless you all - I will pray each night for you.
Warmly,

You may want to post in the "Introduction Section" and give us more details on what your Dad has been through so far. What was his staging, treatment received, etc. You will receive many responses to any question you can think of. Keep reading the older posts as knowledge will empower you as one of his primary caregivers.
Best Wishes, Danny Boy

This is his second go around but the first time it was caught very early so he had surgery to remove the cancer and no other treatment. This time is different. Which Kaiser was your dad treated at? My dad will also have the initial surgery at Kaiser RWC then he will have the dental part done in SF Kaiser. he will also have radiation at Sequoia hospital. I'm kind of freaking out because he is 77 and this seems like such a long hard road. Any advice? TRACY | | |

I had chemo at Kaiser in Walnut Creek and IMRT at UCSF, only at Parnassus. I go to Mt. Zion now for my RO follow ups. UCSF is the best! They practically pioneered IMRT. The RO professor out there is listed in the Castle Top 500 Doctors in the US (and the only one for IMRT).
