I am almost 4 weeks post op and have some ideas about having sex. The mind is very willing but couldn't quite complete the act. I am still taking roxicet and lorazepam could this be holding me back.

I looked in my PDR and there wasn't any specific mention of sexual disfunction with either of those drugs. It does have a contraindication for for possible drug interaction when taking Roxicet (AKA Percocet) and Zanax or Valium and I believe that Ativan is in the same family. You may find out more information doing an internet search with Google or talk to your pharmacist. Pharmacists should have the most up to date information.

I can't speak for the ladies out there, but I think that a certain amount of sexual disfunction comes with the territory even if its just for psychological reasons. I had no libido for a long time during and after treatment and I am happy to report that everything is back to normal. I am also not taking any meds.

It too shall pass.

Dan, both drugs are nervous system depressants, especially roxicet as a narcotic. Any thing that depresses the nervous system will affect sexual function, that along with psychological turmoil connected with what you`ve been through, is probably what`s going on with you..........this too, shall pass.........Dee
