Hi everyone. I have a question. My husband Doug just had his first biopsy done in his mouth since finishing radiation and chemo in June. We won't know his results until Friday. I'm trying to find out what's next. His otolaryngologist says that he is concerned about a hard mass still left on his left neck. I guess they decide what to do after we get the biopsy results of what is going on in the mouth. I asked about neck dissection, but he said that he would like to do other biopsies in the neck first before doing this as there would be no point if he has residual disease in his neck. Also, he said that he would get another PET/CT scan. My question is that if there is disease in the neck after chemo and radiation, can't this be removed? Has anybody else had experience with this? Any info would be most helpful. Hopefully there is no futher cancer in the mouth. Thanks everyone for all your help and support
Sincerely,
Virginia
