Minnie is right, your posts, which are echoed many times on OCF, belong here or in After Treatment Issues. And there are as many answers to your thoughts as there are people going through this. Anti-anxiety meds work for some, group counseling for others, delving into a whole new life direction or jumping full time back into your work may do the trick. It would surprise me if anyone who has been through this battle once could say that they never thought about it again once they got the all clear. But, you know what- I've not had cancer yet, altho 5 of my aunts have [3 breat cancers on Mom's side + 2 on Dad's] so you can bet I get a mammogram yearly and there is a family history of high blood pressure and stroke,[and I had a stroke 4 yrs. ago] so now I get those tests regularly. We can have a disease, beat the disease and then become vigilant about our general health thereafter- but not let the worry rule our lives. NOt saying that is easy, but it is possible and we usually need some help along the way.Since I am a great believer in therapy, I would suggest to youall that a good counseling group might be of benefit. It has been to me on several occasions during my 67 yrs. on this earth. You guys need to celebrate each day going forward and pidgeonhole those fears into a tiny area in your phyche where they will stay under control.
