O.K. Guys, I`ve just learned an ideal way to deal with anger,,,,,,,,SMASH THINGS...........I was blessed to inherit an ugly ceramic bull dog. I mean spiked collar and everything.........hated it from day one...............so, out he went, his name was Charlie, well now he`s like a thousand pieces, and do I feel better. I`ve hated that dog from day one, I mean he didn`t even qualify for shabby chic.........but Frank`s five foot Indian, who I named Kicking Bird, is off to Alabama with me........I had quite a time dancing around Christmas morning, dancing around with him and trying to get him stood up before Pacer got up............so, I`m trashing bad stuff and keeping the good.......just venting as usual.....................but, I`m finding smashing ulgy stuff is really good therapy........Hugs to All...........Dee

Boy do I remember Maine driving!!! You get on those roads and the person in front of you wants to go 25 miles an hour. I remember when I moved here to Virginia I couldn't go anywhere but the store up the street for a few months as the traffic was SO complicated and I was scared to drive in it. I finally found a friend that taught me the ropes to driving around here.
Dee, please say hello to Maine for me. I miss the simplicity of life there and I remember when I was so sick wanting to go "home". I get to spend two weeks there in July and I CANNOT wait as I didn't get to go last summer (was in the middle of radiation, yuck)
Take care Dee and I cannot wait to meet you at the reunion.

Oh no, Dallas has the worst drivers in the world. If you aren't going 100, they run you over. I used to think it was the slow pokes causing the problems but they have street racers on the highway in packs, running down motorists and people changing tires. Some guy in an SUV ran over 3 people night before last in HIS neighborhood and set his vehicle on fire to disguise the evidence. Is that dumb or what?

I am just now able to drive around and not yell and flash the "international road sign".

Minnie, I just can't imagine you with Road Rage!

Ed, it's not a pretty sight but it does happen! Here's a "most embarrassing" road rage moment.
My 18 year old attends Atlantic Shores Christian School and she is by far my most spiritual child. I have two daughters at that school this year. I drive them each morning and one day this mother just pi--ed me off, I can't even remember why. The rage took over me and in the middle of the Christian School parking lot I flipped her the "favorite finger" as my family calls it. Needless to say it took awhile for my daughters to accept my apology...........probably because everytime I would start to apologize I would start laughing! Even a nun would find the humor in that one, at least in my opinion. We laugh about it now and my Kelly blames it on my illness if her friends bring it up to her.

Kim, don`t even talk about Boston drivers, made enough trips back and forth to Boston Hospitals to last me a life time in Boston traffic.......this is a off the subject, but the day Frank ot is new glasses a guy was looking at him and Frank nodded hello, the guy turned away. On our way out Frank flipped him the bird.Boy, was I proud of him! I was usually the one to stare people down if they looked............Hugs, To All.............Dee

Dee,

I promise to stay out of your way!!

Don't forget to include the cops that make the Boston roads worse!!! Is it just a coicidence that EVERYTIME there's bad traffic, a cop just HAPPENS to be directing???? I think not!!!

If you're driving by Exit 8 on the Expressway, beep and wave!!

Safe driving!

My wife and I fired fully automatic weapons when we were in Vegas. - It was our first trip post Tx. Nothing like a red hot, smoking machine gun to relieve and transfer the anger. Maybe when we're in Vegas we can go the "The Gun Store" and give it a whirl.

When someone does the stupid driver thing near me, especially honk or flip me the happy finger, I smile wave and think to myself "you might be an ass but I am a cancer survivor" top that!

I know they can't hear me think but you'd be amazed what those looks do. laugh

PS I'am all for the full-auto side trip! ED, I thought full-auto meant "ready-to-be-installed-on your-auto"

Hi all,

First, I'm sorry that I haven't been in touch for awhile. This computer is the Pinto of technology. (Sorry, hated my Pinto!) This machine is more tempermental than I am.

I finally convinced the stupid thing to boot-up today, and had to respond to this thread.

We live in the horrid tri-state area. If you have to go into DC, like my husband does each day, you never know how bad you'll be screwed.

Last week, he was going through town to a Department of Justice job. A cop was directing traffic, but decided in the middle of a light change to try and stop Dennis even though the light was green. The cop proceeded to bang the whole side of my husband's new truck and yell "STOP" Well, Dennis did, after a few choice cuss words, and when asked for his license, got out of the truck and reached into his front pants pocket. (He keeps all important IDs in the front) Instantly, these guys(back-up had arrived by now!---I guess they needed help to land a whopping 135 lb., 5'11" guy!)had him handcuffed and thrown over the hood of the truck!!!!!!!!!!

Once they ran his Federal ID they let him go, but wouldn't admit that they had overreacted. I don't think they took too kindly to the fact that he knew more about traffic control than they did.

We've had a good laugh.....but beware if you are traveling through DC!

Love,
Mandi

PS--We had a guy a few weeks ago here who thought he hit a "deer" on the interstate. He didn't bother to get out and check. Once he drove home and sobered up the next day, he noticed a dead body in the street in front of his house. He had hit a guy changing a tire on the interstate and drug him for over 10 miles.

PLEASE, ALL OF YOU BE CAREFUL...

Jeez, Mandi, what a horrible p.s. Don`t be talking bad about pintos, I had one that got across the country several times, although I traded her in for a pinto lemon. I currently have a 91 geo metro, who is my baby, we`re towing he to Ala, since she`s getting a little elderly....Once down there my soon to be son-in=law artist is going to airbrush her. And being in the south, I can actually put the top down...........Love and Hugs.........BA.

Yes I am! Since we're all family here, I'll go ahead and post the problem. No where can you get straighter answers than right here. I'm dealing with insensitive, negligent medical personel that aren't looking at the big picture. My OWN team... I SPECIFICALLY asked for a peticular screening at my annual physical. I read on this board about it. Well for the first time EVER I turn up with "atypical cells" and I should come back in 3 MONTHS??? WHAT??? Oooops.. and they forgot to run the screening I asked for and they wont do it now for another 3 months. mad I'm so scared this could be related to Don's cancer. Did I do this to him??? confused We've both been completely monogamus(sp?) for over 5 years. Please send all ugly ceramic things to me.
Karen

STOP... you are doing what we all do here.. actually we all do it well... YOU are looking for a situation or a person to blame.. you know it doesn't work like that.. If there was one easy answer none of us would be in this sh#t...
try to go over it all.. if they were worried about you.. you would not have to wait 3 months.. and Don's cancer no-way are you to blame... better to blame aliens than yourself...
love hugs and box of plates

Thanks Helen, Perspective. That's what I need. There's not much I can do about it now. 'Cept maybe throw plates. I think sometimes I read too much but I'm talking about real studies at John Hopkins. They say 80% of us have HPV, and #16 & #18 are the ones related to oral cancer. (It does come with a slightly better prognosis.)I have to get my mind off this for a while... Hey all, Check your e-mails I sent everyone I could on this thread a little stress relief I forgot I had. Turn up the sound. I hope you enjoy.

Hi Karen
Thanks for mail.. just what I needed.. glass red wine and a laugh.. great... Try not to play the number game.. if 80% have HPV why haven't 79% that's 80% if you include me.. got oral cancer.. who gave it to me CAN I SUE... expect eventualy a connection with a lot of things will be found.. but I will not give up two things.. red wine and ( ok that's the other one) when I'm nil by mouth can I have IV red wine.. hope so..
love and hugs.. sorry threw the plates

Just got a chance to check out this thread, Hmm, sounds like we might have an organized activity for the Vegas GetTogether--automatic weapons fire. Will have to get the entertainment director to look into this.

Driving.. Folks complaining about Boston etc should try here in S. China. Traffic signals are only a "guideline" as well as lane markers. First thing taught in driver's ed is to fold the rear view mirror UP so it's out of the way, you don't really need it anyway (I'm not kidding). Very common to see traffic going wrong way on divided boulevards. 4 people on a 150cc motorcycle, one an infant usually riding on the handlebars. Traffic flow is not usually all one direction, about 1/3 of the traffic on a street is traveling at a 90 degree angle from the other 2/3, and this isn't at intersections. Since my company's policy is to not let non-local's drive, I just hide in the back seat of my car behind a book or magazine. But a taxi ride is quite an adventure, ala "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" at Disneyland.

Dumb question, but after having had this "brush with mortality" and surviving, has anyone else hand a penchant for doing things slightly more risky than they would have before hand. Like ok, I've got a 50/50 chance of not being here 5 years from now because of the cancer. But if I jump out of a perfectly good airplane (wearing the "chute" of course) it's statistically safer than living with this disease. So I'm more likely to go ahead and do something silly like skydiving than I would have if I had not gotten cancer. Still not going to jump out of an airplane, but might try driving in Dongguan traffic.
Bob
