Greetings everyone. I visited my local CCC yesterday and saw their oral surgeon. He told me my growth was benign and even took some time to explain what it was, imagine that. He said it was a salivary gland that was blocked and became calcified and fused itself to the surrounding bone. At any rate, I would like to say thanks to all who participated in helping me through this stressful period in my life, especially you Anne-Marie. God bless you all.

What great news!!!!!! Now you know all about oral cancer, and you will know to be watchful down the road. That knowledge might one day save your life! But I'm glad that you don't have to deal with it this time. Now...get busy being happy and healthy!

P.S.--It's still much better to have had this properly checked than to have ignored it and later found out that it was cancer. You did the right thing, for sure.

Great News youngin. Now YOU can help spread the word of OC awareness. You very well could have had cancer. And you could have kept getting bounced around until finally it was diagnoised at a late stage and much more difficult to treat. As has happened to many of us here. That is why we kept imploring you to get a biopsy. Tell everyone you know, every DDS. and Dr. you visit. You are now armed with the knowledge to help others. You can save lives. Do Me a favor. Go back and read your first post "newbie on board". Change all your negatives into positives. Hug your wife and kids every day and tell them you love them. You've been given a second chance. DON'T WASTE IT!
You brightened an otherwise bleak day for me. As Spock would say: "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER". laugh
Sincerely, Petey smile smile smile

Thanks everyone. Even though I'm still experiencing some of those one sided symptoms, I'm glad to have apparently ruled out the OC. After learning alot about this disease I've come to hate it. I pledge to advocate OC awareness to the people in my patch of dirt. You all have won a lifelong friend in the fight against this monster and hopefully with the coming of the boomers we can stomp this thing out. I have never witnessed courage and mental toughness as I've seen on this board. Thank you.

Kit
