Hi, I might be worrying about nothing but has anyone here heard of Tonsillar Fossae cancer? or maybe it's called by a differant name. I had a very bad head cold over Christmas and what I have now developed could I guess be from that but I'm worried all the same luckily I have my monthly check up tomorrow with the ENT doctor and he'll be able to see for himself and hopefully give me good news but in the meantime I was hoping someone might be able to put my mind at rest. about a week ago I developed what looks like a small white abcess, I am going to try an insert a picture that I found on the net that looks exactly like it, if it doesn't work I will put a link to a page where you can go to see it. what I am worried about is that it has nothing to do with the after effects of the cold but that it could be a new cancer as they said my first hadn't spread.. in the picture it says they are cysts but isn't that another name for cancer? I have only one and it's on the left hand side.. thanks.. tried to insert pic but it didn't work so here is a link, hope it works http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y36/Linda2810/Cysts.jpg

UK, cysts is NOT another name for cancer. There are many kinds of cysts that are absolutely harmless. Please don't lose any sleep over that. The tumor I had did not look anything like that. Take a deep breath. I will be very surprised if you cannot come back after seeing your ENT and report that you are just fine. We will wait for that post!

Hi guys, you have no idea what your posts did for me at the time I was getting myself really "het up" but once I'd read what you wrote I calmed down immediately, thank you so much. And of course you guys were so right, the ENT doc had a look at my "cyst" and said right away that it was normal and nothing to worry about he then went on to do his regular check with the mirror down my throat and he said that everything is still looking wonderful" .. phew, another month over and each one is getting better, thanks guys, this forum is great.. hugs
