From what I've read it seems to me that the survival rates are worse for those that started with SCC of the tongue??? Is this true, or do I have it all wrong? Is SCC more aggressive when it's found on the tongue?
Hope that's not a stupid question. Thanks to those who reply!

First of all, never let statistics rule your life. They tell us that we are more likely to die from a car wreck than a plane crash. Does this mean we should never fly?
To answer your question, I have known many people with SCC with the primary site of tonsil, tongue, etc., but I am not sure if any is better or worse. I read on this forum sometimes that tongue cancer is the worst and I resist the temptation to say "No, tonsillar is the worst." The reality is it is all bad but not always deadly. I read today of two survivors of 40+ years and I have seen one member from 1989 still thriving. I have also seen Stage I cancer victims succumb to this disease. If we could only isolate what exactly causes some forms of SCC to be more aggresive and find a way to destroy it early, life would be wonderful.
By the way, why the interest?
Ed
