I find it bizarre that they are not testing tumors in smokers for HPV also and from my point fo view, makes the study flawed. Now let's get back to helping this person beat this disease. If someone that doesn't smoke can have a HPV- cancer then why can't a smoker have an HPV+ cancer? I spoke with Angie today, wonderful woman. She has a HUGE support system and a strong faith. She went for a CT scan today and has an appointment with my docs early next week. She's in good hands and has a very positive scenario in my opinion. Minnie
SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.
