Hi,
My mother was just diagnosed with cancer today. The doctors said she has squamous carcinoma. I have been combing the internet to find as much inoformation as possible. I feel as though this group is just the support is just what she and I need to get through this. I have so many questions, and I hope to find them here.

Thanks

Welcom, and I'm really sorry you had to come looking for us. Where does your Mom have cancer exactly? Head and neck cancers cover a significant number of locations; tongue, roof of the mouth, floor of the mouth, jaw, etc.

It helps all of us here to know what her diagnosis is, so that we can help you and her make this journey that we've been through before.

It is a battle, and it's not an easy one. Treatment is physically very tough, and emotions are just as difficult to manage as the discomfort is. Please stick around; we can help you both make it through.

You have found the best place to be for helpful information and compassionate understanding! If you haven't already, if you click on the "forum home" link at the top of this page, you will see a "New posters read this first" link which can help get you started with whatever questions you might have. It helps to know the type and stage of cancer and what treatment is planned. Do let us know what's happening and how you and your Mother are doing.

Dear "Published"- how about a nickname or a more personal way to address you? When you can share more about your Mom, you will get some good help here. Meanwhile, this is a good place for you to be as you and your family begin this journey. Amy in the Ozarks
