Well, I suppose I am officially a survivor!

Saw my surgeoun yesterday and he seems to think the worst is behind me, painwise and almost every other thing. He said that there was very definite clear margins and it seems to be healing good. He thought that the bleeding was probably something like a scab that broke free....more a case of bad luck than anything else!

I have one more follow-up visit planned with him for 2 weeks but he is confident that it is pretty much done now!!!

Lets hope so.

My journey has probably not been as long or arduous as many peoples here, but it has been difficult. I will certainly stay on these forums as a SURVIVOR!

I would sure like to thank everyone on here for all your thoughts and kind words.

Chris, I too have felt that I was more fortunate than many here, but it has been heartwarming to receive the sincere congratulations from those who are still fighting. So never feel "guilty" that your circumstances weren't as difficult as those of others. We still have to continue to learn, and to be vigilant, and to believe in our health and to be thankful for our good fortune. I am truly happy for you. I have my 18-month checkup in two weeks. Until then, I refuse to update my signature. I look forward to coming home from that checkup and making that change...."Cancer-free at 18 months!"

That's AWESOME Christopher!! Colleen, It won't be very long, I'll be expecting to see that updated signature line! No excuses, but I haven't posted lately, been caught up in the workforce once again. (what a problem to have, thank the good Lord!!)

As I told someone else on these boards a few months back -- rather than feel "guilty" about your circumstances, approach it from this perspective: "Early detection saves lives. I'm living proof!"

I know what a relief this is for you.

All the best --
Leslie

Christopher,

Glad to hear that things have calmed down, the margins were clear and that you will hang around here.

Keep us posted as you progress to total healing and further good reports.

As far as total healing goes I still have a way to go with that...the pain isnt slowing up quite as well as I had hoped and the eating isnt quite as good as I was hoping also.

As I am a truck driver I have decided to give it another week off and let things heal up more get my strength back up and get off the narcotic pain meds!!!

Take care all!

Great News Christohper!

Now it is "your turn" to give out the kind words and encouragement. I like to call it "paying forward".

I would also like to thank you for being a responsible "Trucker" for knowing when to drive and when not to drive.

In one sentence "I am a truck driver....." you probably made a few people think twice about driving while on meds. I called a neighbor last week to come pick me up as I "could feel" the affect of my meds. on my driving, although only 3/4 miles from home.

I could have walked but hot sun and radiation do not go together.

Thank You for keeping "our" roadways safe. Petey
