The fibula transplant was done at the same time, with a titanium reinforcing bar to keep everything anchored. I had implants done this spring, and they are fantastic. If you're going to have to undergo additional surgery for reconstruction anyway, the additional work required for implants is really pretty straightforward. You won't be sorry taking that route Wayne
