He just finished #13 rad and #3 chemo. His mouth is a mess so he can't eat and is losing weight rapidly. Finally got the formula for the peg tube, but can't get any help until tomorrow to show me how to feed him. My pharmacist can't even get that magic mouthwash. This whole thing is beginning to feel like a train wreck. We had hoped to be one step ahead, planning and anticipating. Unfortunately, some of the team from the cancer center have let us down. Now we're behind the 8 ball. Reg has lost 10+ lbs in one week and still not able to eat. I've tried baking soda, salt water, biotene, lidocaine, for his mouth. Nothing helps. Anyone have any suggestions? | | |

If you still have any worries, this is the place to find answers for things that doctors can't tell you, so post often, read a lot, and ask questions as they occur to you. Hope we can help. The tube is amazingly easy to use, but I feel like I would be doing you a disservice to try to explain it over an internet forum when you are so close to having a hands-on demonstration tomorrow. Hang in there, it WILL get easier!
