Hi, gerryw- I'm afraid you may get lost in this thread. You might want to post under "After Treatment issues". Has your husband tried any swallowing therapy with a professional? Or at least gotten some tests done? Please tell us more about what is going on with him.
And to Jenbea- fresh foods are good and since you feel he is looking better, it sounds like they are working for him. I had a hard time calculating all the nutritional value John was getting when he could eat home cooked meals. I could not break down the nutrients in a half portion of this and that. It takes a skilled nutritionist to put together a daily diet of the "right foods". When John went back on the peg and tube feeding "packaged nutrients", I knew at least he was getting the proper amount of vitamins, minerals, etc. This is a hard question to answer unless you can figure a way to track it all.
