It was in September last year and we had about 20 folks, including caregivers.

Dinah was very instrumental in organizing this and she passed away not very long ago after a long and ferocious fight. She was too ill to attend.

My gosh how time has flown. We should be well into planning the Second Annual meet! It was a very enjoyable time meeting folks. It was in Vegas and at the Imperial Palace. At the time we kinda thought we would have future get-togethers at other venues so that travel would be an even burden on everyone. Gary had pictures posted for a while Perhaps they are still available?

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

Hi guys, saw this up near the top and thought it was about a new get together. Was at the Imperial Palace last May, half expected to see Danny at the blackjack tables near the dealertainers. Food no better at the buffets though. And the lines no shorter at the front desk.

Bob

SCC Tongue, stage IV diagnosed Sept, 2002, 1st radical neck dissection left side in Sept, followed by RAD/Chemo. Discovered spread to right side nodes March 2003, second radical neck dissection April, followed by more RAD/Chemo.

Do we have any hearty souls out there that want to start on planning a second reunion? It was a good time last year. We found out the people we were talking to on the board were even better people than anyone could expect.

Hello Bob, Missed seeing your input on the boards.

What do you guys want to look for in a location?
Big-Busy-Bustling? or Quiet-Laid back-peaceful? What was the agenda for the last one? Amy

As a former pilot who volunteered my time and aircraft to fly doctors and dentists to Mexico etc. to treat the underprivileged, I can tell you that most organizations like Angel Flight etc. are set up to see that patients can get to appropriate treatment and not to reunions. They are on volunteer time and donations just like us. As a rule they have more demand than they can handle. Given that, I think that using their resources to ferry individuals to a reunion for survivors may not get them the type of publicity that they are looking for, or which generates needed donations for their really important work, getting patients to treatment.

As to a location, I would go to the Mendocino coast in a heartbeat. But for those who like the action and shows of a Vegas venue it would seem too

I think that we chose Vegas because it was relatively cheap to fly to and the room prices were very good. There were lots of shows, gambling for those who indulge, Hoover Dam, etc. but also hoards of people, smoking and drinking everywhere.

Hawaii sounds like a plan to me.
