Sharlee,

Right now you don't know for sure that the other lesions are cancerous, since they haven't been biopsied, so don't make yourself feel worse based on your gut reaction. However, it sounds like the doctors you've seen so far have only one weapon (surgery), and that's not always the best approach to dealing with this disease. A cancer team (knowledgeable about surgery, radiation and chemo) can do the best job of pre-testing the nature of what's there now and recommending the course of treatment to deal with it.

Dear Sharlee, PLEASE take some deep breaths and try to slow your brain down. [Unless the Docs tell you that you have 2 weeks to live and you need to get your affairs in order], you DO have the time to fight this -one day at a time- it is a much easier journey with that attitude. Start thinking "I will be done with this in a few months and back to my real life". We are sending hugs to you. Amy

Dear Sharlee,
You are too close to Sloan Kittering to even consider going someplace else. Have your dr call now and get you an appointment to evaluate the best way to treat YOUR problem ASAP. You need an evaulation by the best the country and it's only a few hours away. DO IT NOW! Your five little ones need you. Keep us posted.

Take care,
Eileen
