Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 35 | I am brand new to posting on this board, but have long been a reader and have benefited from the very helpful information on the site. My husband, Tom, is 3+ years out from treatment and continues to be healthy. We are grateful each day for his medical team and the excellent care he received. There are now two beautiful grandbabies in our family since his treatment concluded and another due in November. I am assisting Tom in editing the "Getting Through It" project. If you haven't yet seen the newest version of the Table of Contents, please take a look. We need your input and feedback.

And, congratulations on the grandkids. I have 3 granddaughters and a ? on the way. There is no greater joy.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

I have three so far, Kayla 8, Shelby 6, and Princess Mia who is 20 months and our 4th one (another girl!) is due in September and will be named Madeline Grace (after her great-great grandmother). We love our children but we LOVE our grandchildren. Enjoy Charlotte!
Jerry, you and I are neck and neck with granchildren.
SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.

Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 35 | Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Tom and I are excited about the new arrival and should know in 3 weeks whether to expect pink or blue! Joshua, 10 months, and Ryder, 14 months, could use some female company. But as Jerry said, as long as they're healthy.
I'll be away from the forum for 2 weeks visiting my mom in Montana. She's 86 and becoming noticeably more confused. It's decision time about assisted living or home support, I'm afraid. Have any of you dealt with this situation yet? She so wants to stay in her own home and I'm hoping we can make that happen.
