I am new to the group and new to dealing with this beast that has invaded my life called cancer. I started Induction Chemotherapy on 2/17 and it's been a rough few weeks.
Today is the first day I am feeling somewhat human, so I am back in "information gathering" mode: trying to get a firm grip on what, exactly, is going on in my body, how best to fight it, what I can expect...etc..etc.
I am going over my MRI report and looking up all of the words I do not readily know (quite a few..ha ha), but the beginning of the report has me a bit stumped:
"Centrally necrotic destructive mass"
The "destructive mass" part is fairly self explanatory given that the tumor is 6.2 x 5.6 cm, and I know that "necrotic" means dead. However, I cannot find anything that explains the phrase "centrally necrotic". Any ideas?

Without a medical background Im simply not qualified and not educated in the test report lingo. I would ask your doctor to explain it to you. Maybe your nurses could help answer your question.
Please let us know what that phrase means when you find out.
