Got treatment of tongue cancer at fiRst stage.! Also got radio therapy on it. Treated by 30 days treatment for it having frequency of 6000 on last day. 4 months have been completed. Now it somewhat pains at my surgery site. Does it pain to everyone who undergoes surgery? Somewhat Confused. Can you please assist me about it. Whether it pains to everyone? Only The stitching site pains. Could you please suggest anythng.
Got surgery and radiation but after that got MRI then got the report that it has some bulge at the surgery site
Is it possible that its cancer germs even after taking so many radiations ??

Thank you!

Welcome to OCF!

If you are experiencing pain where you did not have it before then you should see your doctor. Ive had many surgeries and some places hurt once in a while (I can now predict when bad weather is coming) and other places hurt most of the time. There could be any number of reasons why its causing you pain. Maybe something is swelling or a nerve is pinched??? Best thing I can tell you is to see your doc and find out whats causing the pain and what can be done to get rid of it.

Im fairly sure I understand what you meant by... Is it possible that its cancer germs even after taking so many radiations ?? Yes, cancer can return after radiation. It only takes one teeny tiny cell to somehow survive the rads to cause a recurrence. But... pain does not necessarily mean its a recurrence. Thats why a good exam by your doc will help to figure out whats going on.

Good luck!!!

Hi Patil,

Your question can only be answered by a doctor. Even then, he may need to do a CT scan or biopsy to know. We are only patients, survivors and caregivers' we are not trained to answer questions like the one you have. I would make an appointment to see my oncologist if I was in your shoes.

As I advised on 8/21, you should see your doctor. You probably would have found out whats wrong by now if you had gone to your doctor. Im very sorry you are in pain! Nobody should have to suffer, please go get checked right away so you can get some relief.

Only your physician can determine the reason behind the pain you are having. Doctors have many years of formal education, years of hands on assisting an experienced doctor then years of seeing their own patients, their patients written medical history and the patient in front of them to examine. Our site is made up of cancer patients/survivors and caregivers who do not have medical backgrounds or training. Im very sorry but our members (including myself) are just not qualified to give a diagnosis over the internet.

PS... Im not a sir, Christine is a female name.
